- Commences in the higher octave, e.g. s R S N S D; m p S, S n R S n S d, n p; m p n S R S; p d d n n S; R S p, d n p; p d n p m p g; the weakened purvanga phrase m p g m r s. A bhashanga raga whose arohana/avarohana are not strictly followed, phrases are interwoven.
- Ornament / gamaka
- Highly oscillatory (kampita) gandhara, the sadharana gandhara (G2) is obligatorily oscillated and never rendered plain (e.g. in m p g, m); kampita on gandhara and dhaivata, jaru on gandhara. Bhashanga raga admitting anya-swaras sadharana gandhara (G2) and kaisiki nishada (N2), while kakali nishada (N3) is the native nishada used rarely in descent.
